Blaugust, slife of life, RPGs, Delta Green

A horse of a different color, today. I tanked out about midnight last night, which is extremely odd for me, and slept through to two in the afternoon, today. I woke up just long enough to send an email to work that I wouldn't be working today, and crashed out. I am now dealing with the Sleep Hangover, aka my brain-meds were late and my head is not happy. But, the world goes on, and so must I!

So, today is my first time re-joining my Thursday night RPG group. We finished up with Brindlewood Bay, and gone full on C'thulu with Delta Green, but I needed a bit of a break, so they did a first adventure without me, and tonight is the recap of that session moving towards the beginning of the next!

Delta Green is a modern-day setting for Call of C'thulu, where the players are (mostly) government agents, who are part of a secret extra department that covers up and fights against the eldritch horrors of the world. If you imagine being another FBI agent alongside Mulder and Scully, also trying to fight the weird shit, you're on the right path.

Currently my fellow players are explaining that they solved the problems in the first adventure by burning them all, including the person who may have been a victim, so, you know, it's a typical game with this crew, and I'm excited to join in. The shenanigans are never-ending, and there's never a dull moment.

The horror aspect is relatively new, but I'm finding it honestly easier to deal with that kind of thing when it's in an explicit topic, rather than when it just kind of pops up in an otherwise silly romance game. I hit a rough bump where some involuntary committal stuff came up, and I was just like "wait, I lived through this with someone, and it sucks, lets be gentle, please". Thankfully, I play with amazing humans who are very open to feedback like that, and I always feel safe about saying 'no, thank you' about things.

I'm off to go join P-Cell now, the Delta Green rookie group of idiots who set everything on fire. Wish me luck!
