Blaugust, gardening

I'm not feeling great, so I snagged some pics of things I'm excited about on my plant rack, and gonna leave it at that. Tomorrow will be better!

a stem of flowers against a cedar fence background. the bottom one is open and the6 above it are in various stages of opening. the blooms are a salmon-color and have a bit of water from the rain on them.
Apparently its much easier to grow when you're not being strangled by bindweed.
a closeup of a pinguicula carnivorous plant. this one is compact, with thick leaves radiating out from a center. each leaf has a white border where it curls up, but it's top surface is a lovely purple. It's on a piece of pumice, surrounded by other pings.
This little guy is so damn cute, and always makes me happy! It gets pride of place at the very top of the ping rock! The light's are distorting the color a bit, he's really a bit warmer-colored than a cold purple.
a small silvery-green vine with long thin leaves, like four inches by 2 inches maybe, is planted in a pot and tied up to a moss pole made of black stiff plastic folded into a D-shape with a grid of holes on the flat edge, and stuffed with sphagnum moss.
My moss poles came today, so I hooked this philodendron silver sword up. We'll see how it goes, but I figure if i'm already down there feeding Bloo and watering the mounted vandas, this isn't much more work, really!
an extreme close up of the stem of a phalanopsis orchid. the stiff broad green leaves are visible stretching to each side, but the focus of the photo is the tiny nub of a new root emerging.
New root, new root, la la la la la la! (this time I'll rebloom a phal, for SURE! ha. hahaha. :sob:)
a pair of venus flytraps sit next to each other. The further back one has much larger traps, with the centers faintly blushing red, and long thin 'teeth' around their edges, only six are visible. The smaller one closer to the camera, however, has at least twenty much-smaller traps, and their insides are bright vivid red, with tiny teeth. there's also a couple of new traps forming.
The size discrepancy between King Henry in the back, and Trev's Dracula in the front, never ceases to make me laugh.
An over-top view of a pot of sundews. On closer inspection, there are two separate plants in the same pot, and both have a LOT of long thin stems with traps on the ends, that look like fuzzy red scrub-brushes. The dew is just starting to form on the tips of the bristles after the stress of travel.
California Carnivore's plant quality is always top-notch. I just noticed today, there are two separate plants in this pot that just arrived from them! I would've felt like I got what I paid for with just one, so props to them, as usual!
a closeup of the stem of a begonia plant. it's got multiple red and furry petioles coming from it, and right near the bottom, two new leaves are forming. They have no petiole yet, just tiny tear-shaped fuzzy leaves.
A couple of babies dried off from this part, before, hopefully how that it's got two bigger healthy leaves going, it can put these ones up, successfully!
The whole begonia plant. the four oldest leaves are shrivelled, with their edges dried out or trimmed back. Two adolescent leaves are rising from the center, dark green with silvery markings on the center.
Go baby leaves, go! You're older siblings now, you have to set a good example!
a top down view of a plant with long green leaves, notched at the back like an arrow tip, large veins run across the surface in a bold almost white color. The leaf itself is dark green towards black, with a velvety looking texture, and if you look close, you can see that color almost swirls near the edges. Poking out in the back, a new leaf is starting to unfurl. It's color is a much lighter lemon-lime on the top, and it's still mostly rolled up.
I repot this guy last weekend, so I'm STOKED he's putting out that leaf, that one was all done in my house, under my lights!

See ya in the next one!
